Christmas Letters

11-23-2013

That name "Immanuel" simply means "God with us". While I know there is nothing that will replace the physical presence of our loved one, I do know that we have a wonderful God who is with us by the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus shared a bit about Who the Holy Spirit would be to us in this day we live in John 16:7 (KJV) 7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

Church Christmas Letter 2013 - "Lamb of God" Theme
11-22-2013

When we think of the birth of Jesus Christ, it is often easy to associate Him with the term "Lamb of God" because of the things that come to mind when describing a lamb. Meek and lowly, gentle and even somewhat needy would describe a lamb, much as a child born into this world even today. Yet, when these "types" or comparisons take place it is important that we remember the full meaning.

Church Christmas Letter 2013 - "To Seek and To Save" Theme
11-22-2013

We see also the change of hearts as people put their faith and trust in Christ such as a tax collector by the name of Zacchaeus: Luke 19:9-10 (NIV) 9 Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost." Within the trappings and distractions that the Christmas season offers, may we never forget one of the primary purposes of Jesus' coming to earth, and it was "to seek and to save what was lost."

Church Christmas Letter 2013 - "Cradle, Cross and Crown" Theme
11-22-2013

What a wonderful time of year it is as once again we pause and remember the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I know the word "pause" might seem like an odd one to use during this time of year when everything about the season seems to be so chaotic. Yet, I believe it is important for us to "pause on purpose" if we really want to have a meaningful Christmas season. We know that Jesus Christ came to this earth with purpose, and the primary purpose was to "seek and to save the lost" as we read about in Luke 9:10; "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost."

Church Christmas Letter 2013 - Special Christmas Offering
11-22-2013

Christmas is a wonderful time of year in which we give and receive gifts all in celebration and honor of our Savior, Jesus Christ, whose birthday we celebrate. Yet, I am often puzzled at our joy in sharing, giving, and receiving of these gifts with so many others, when in actuality we should think of Christ not only primarily, but first! (After all, how many Birthday parties have you gone to where the guests exchanged gifts, and the one having the Birthday received nothing?)

Thank You Letter to Volunteer Choir Director 2013 - Christmas Musical
11-22-2013

Without hard work, and hours of practice and of course preparation before the practice this would not have been the success as it was, and continues to be as people share such kind words throughout the church and even our community. While it is never "easy" to spend those hours of practice and preparation for what seems to be a few "minutes" of presentation, you can rest assured it is worth it, both for the Choir and those who gather to listen.

Christmas Letter to Homebound 2013
11-21-2013

On behalf of the congregation and leadership here at (NAME OF CHURCH), I wanted to be sure to take a moment to send a note to let you know how much you are appreciated during this Christmas Season. I know that so many of those who are unable to get out to church would love to be able to do so, yet, in the quiet of your residence you spend time in prayer for the church as we gather together from week to week.

Letter to Member of Military at Christmas
11-21-2013

I know it's difficult being away from family and friends during the Holidays, but without people like you paying the price for freedom, it's almost unimaginable what our Nation would look like and even "if" we would be able to celebrate Holidays...especially Christmas!

Thank You to Children's Ministry Director/Pastor for Christmas Program
11-21-2013

I believe in the tremendous value of our children. I have known of whole families that have started to make church a weekly habit because of the desire of a child, or children in that family wanting to do so. Also, the faith of a little child is amazing as they haven't come to Jesus with a series of excuses of why God "can't" keep His promises!

Letter of Thanks for Giving To Families In Need At Christmas
12-13-2012

I wanted to take a moment to send this letter of appreciation for your generous offering of love on behalf of families in need here at the church during the Christmas Season. Without a doubt, there aren't too many things a parent struggles with more than knowing they are going to have to try to find a way to explain to their children why Christmas is so different this year.

Appeal to Congregation to Give to Families in Need at Christmas
12-13-2012

Well, it's that time of year again! Christmas is such a wonderful and joyous occasion as we celebrate the birth of Christ by giving gifts (and receiving some too), as well as spending time with families and loved ones, and so much more. This letter is just a little reminder that while we are so blessed to share in the joys of Christmas, it can also be a very difficult time for families struggling financially during tough times.

Christmas Letter to Shut-In 2012 - Encouragement to Faithful Christian
11-29-2012

I wanted to take this opportunity to send this letter during the Christmas Season to let you know how much you are appreciated and loved. While there can be little doubt you would rather be in the House of God at this time with us, you and I both know that the presence of God in our lives is not determined by our present location, but we can experience His touch wherever we are.

Christmas Letter 2012 - Isaiah 9:6 Theme - Wonderful, Counselor...
11-28-2012

I trust this letter finds you and your family enjoying the Christmas Season as it descends upon us! And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Christmas Letter 2012 - Encouragement to Stand Strong
11-28-2012

Once again, the Christmas season is upon us, and I wanted to take a moment to send this letter of encouragement to you as we once again celebrate the Birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We live in a world that is increasingly either hostile or apathetic to the message of His birth. It seems at every turn we hear about a company or business that has decided to make this simply another "holiday", instead of the Christmas season it really is. Yet, are we to be surprised about this? I don't think so.

I have seen such a unity of spirit as we have taken the talents and gifts granted to us by God, and combined them with time and energy, as well as prayer to see this effort have a tremendous impact in our area! I often encounter people in the community who have words of thanks and appreciation for what they have witnessed.

First Christmas after Loss of Loved One
11-10-2011

As the world prepares to enjoy the birth of our savior joyously, we cannot help realize this is your first Christmas after the untimely death of your wife. Christmas Letter to Congregation
10-20-2011

As the Christmas holiday approaches I would like to encourage you to remember that Christmas is a holiday that celebrates the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that much of the world gets caught up in commercialism and focuses entirely too much on spending more money than they have at Christmas time. As a follower of Jesus, I admonish you to be prayerful and exercise wisdom this Christmas.

Christmas Letter - Share With Others
11-25-2010

May I take a moment to remind you that this may not always be the case? I encourage you to take a moment to look around at someone who may be in need of an "open door" of fellowship at this time. Perhaps they have weathered a storm in their life, and are battered and bruised, and simply in need of the love only you (and yours) are able to provide.

During our services here at First Christian Church, we often have announcements. While all of these announcements are important enough to be shared, none of them can rise to the level of importance on the announcement you just read that was shared by the angels to the shepherds as the night was shattered by light filling the sky.

From the mission field – Merry Christmas to you and your family. What a wonderful and blessed time of year to be able to share the story of Jesus’ birth with those who have no idea who He is. No matter where you witness to people, no matter their economic status, educational level or Biblical knowledge, they all can relate to the birth of a child. And what a great child indeed was Jesus Christ.
